Presented for your consideration is this interesting vintage compact. The pentagon shaped compact is made of gold tone metal with a large circle shaped piece of red-orange bakelite in the center of each cover. These bakelite pieces are raised from the surface. The compact easily opens and closes. At one end is a latch and on the opposite end is a hinge. On the inside there are two compartments to place a small puff. Original puffs are included. Also on the inside is a small mirror that folds in and out of the compact. Reflective surface is clear and free of wear spots and clouding. One of the clips for the puff is marked with "Pat. 75, 513" and the porcelain makeup base is marked with "Pat. Pending Made in U.S.A." There are no markings to indicate a manufacturer. Guaranteed to be old. This neat compact would make a great addition to any vanity item or compact collection!
Some remnants of makeup are on the inside and the puffs have been used. Typical light wear from age and use. No chips or cracks in the bakelite. Metal is free of dings and dents. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photo for the absolute best details.
Measures 2" wide, 2" deep and 1/2" thick.
