Vintage Silver plate? mirror photo compact

Description

I found this gem at an local estate sale.  I was told it is a picture compact with a mirror.  One side has a mirror which is in very good condition and the other side has a piece of plexi glass which has a small open area where you can lift and insert a photo.  I have shown a coin on the top of the plastic or plexiglass.  I am not sure of the purity of the medal but I do believe it may be silver plate.  It does not attract to a magnet.   The opening does not snap together but it does stay shut do to the heaviness of it.
