    Description

    Rex Fifth Avenue in New York made compacts with various designs & finishes from about 1929-1960s.  They were marketed as affordable but were very good quality..
    This Rex compact is 2-3/4 inches square.  The lid has 4 squares of mother-of-pearl - 2 light & 2 dark - with beaded edging.  In the interior, the powder tray with the Rex logo in the center is in good condition with some light scratching & the mirror is intact,but showing wear on the edges.
    My mother loved compacts & this is one of many that she purchased, probably late 1940-1960.
