Vintage Elgin American Goldtone Powder Compact w/Abstract Floral Lid

Moving from Chicago, the Illinois Watch Company aka Elgin American set up business in Elgin IL in 1890, making quality watch cases, lockets & cigarette cases.  About 1919, they expanded their product line to include powder compacts & continued to make their quality powder compacts with various designs & finishes until 1963.
This round Elgin American compact is 3-3/8 inches in diameter.  The lid has an abstract goldtone floral & ribbon design on a silvertone background.  In the interior, the powder tray with the Elgin American Made in U.S.A. logo in the center is in good condition with very light scratching om the center & the mirror is intact but missing a piece on one edge.  The original white powder puff with the blue ribbon embossed in gold with Elgin American is still inside, with some wear to one side of the ribbon as shown in the photos.  The turquoise color in the photos is reflection from my shirt, not oxidation.
My mother loved compacts & this is one of many that she purchased, probably late 1940s to 1960.  See my other listings of Elgin American Compacts.
