Vintage New Light brass powder compact with mirror
There  is the engraving “New Light” on the bottom of the compact
.  The New Light name dates it to the 1940’s, and since that time there is no reference to this company which presumably made these powder compacts.
Inside the lid is a mirror and a compartment for powder with a spring up fitting.
The hinge is tight and the closure snaps shut and works well.
Compact opens and closes easily.
The lid is beautifully embossed in a paisley design.  The bottom is in Art Decco stripes relief.
Dimensions:
2 1/8” x 1 3/4” x 3/8”.  Weighs approximately 1.8 oz  (51 gms)
It's vintage, over 70 years old, and pre-owned, but still in great condition.  There are some issues:  There are a couple of tarnish marks on the brass, and the mirror backing is pretty much gone.  Could be restored.
It has always been in a chemical, fragrance, smoke, and pet-free environment.
