Otto Kerner Governor State Illinois Milk Glass Mug Cup Vintage 1960's Democrat
This is a vintage milk glass mug/ cup that reads, " Otto Kerner Governor State of Illinois" and features his portrait (on both sides). The mug measures 3 3/8" tall x 3 1/8" diameter at the top and is 4 1/2" across at the handle. There is not a maker's mark but the bottom is marked, " A-29". This is a pre-owned vintage item from the 1960's. Otto Kerner was Illinois' 33rd Governor (1961-1968) and was also a US Circuit Judge for US Court of Appeals for 7th Circuit. This Democratic Governor died in 1976. He got a 3 year prison sentence for a bribery conviction while in office. This mug is free of chips or cracks.
