Original 1917 Maine set of Registration Plates, "420" by chance

These license plates are a one of a kind find. Maine did not start making license plates until 1930, prior to that date the State contracted out license plates with private company's.
These 2 plates were found 38 years ago by a contractor hired to raze an old house that was not livable any longer. They were found behind a refrigerator one in front of the other. The owner of the house smoked a lot, and everything in the house was covered with nicotine, therefore one plate is covered with nicotine while the one behind it was preserved pretty darn well.
These plates have been authenticated by a Maine local antique dealer.
The best thing about these plates is that the numbers "420" are a perfect number that all smokers know about, so there is a two fold value for these plates, first they are original Maine registration plates and second, lets light one up "420" and the value is what someone will pay and how bad they want them for there man cave or women cave.
