For your consideration is a beautiful antique powder compact. Purchased from an estate sale, so I am unsure of age and origin. It is similar to those I've seen with the silver chasing on the top and front and back sides. The periwinkle enamel color on the back is stunning. I believe the pastoral scene to be hand-painted. The area of light on the upper right 'shines'! Includes original puff and netting for powder. Mirror shows its age. I have not been able to locate a mark indicating silver content or a maker. (I'd love to hear if anyone can tell me more about this piece.) The compact is in excellent condition--no scratches or wear. It was displayed in an enclosed curio cabinet.
