We have for sale a marked "Made in USA" Columbia Fifth Avenue vintage black enamel powder compact, with neat USA Military Eagle decoration- the design looks like the United States Army seal to me. This comes from my husband's grandmother's collection.  It measures approximately 3 1/4" round, 1/2" tall. Clasps shut and hinge works nicely. It does show some signs of wear such as the mirror having some blackened areas; some missing rhinestones; comes with the original powder puff.
