    Description

Blacksmith Striking Anvil top plate.   Condition is "Used" since I made it from used forklift tine. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate. I cover shipping to lower 48 US states.Item measures roughly 12"x5"x2". Weight is approximately 34 pounds. 1 inch Square hardy hole is cut with a waterjet. Only the flat part of the fork has been used, not the tapped ends.Striking anvils are usually used to make tools; hammers, axes, drifts when a helper, striker, swings a hammer. They are made from steel that has not been hardened. When a hammer mis-strikes and hits the face it will be less likely to fracture and produce a metal shard. Can work as a starter anvil. Increase the weight by welding anvil to low carbon A36 heavy plate steel.
Very similar to striking anvil top plate that Alec Steele sold at one time.  Difference is I don't have a YouTube channel, I'm not as good looking, and I don't have a cool accent.  I do have striking anvil top plates in stock.
