ADOLF WINDAUS (1876-1959) SIGNED CARD,
“Adolf Windaus/Gottingen/5 May 1929”, on a card 4.25 x 3.5” by the German chemist who received the
1928Nobel Prize for Chemistry for his work on sterols (cholesterol) and their relation to vitamins.
He was involved in the discovery of the transformation of cholesterol through several steps to vitamin D-3. After earning his PhD in medicine, Windaus became the head of the chemical institute at the
University
of Gottingen
(1915-44). He has boldly signed his name, city, and date on the card, which is in fine condition, with minor age toning.
