    Description

This is a 1970 Schwinn Super Sport 10 speed with a conversion to upright handlebars and a few other modifications to make it a more modern solid riding bicycle.
The Super Sport frame was hand built and brazed in the special Schwinn shop where the Paramounts were built.
The original handlebars with brakes and stem, the chrome spoke protector and the chrome chain ring guard were kept and will be included with the bicycle. The kickstand was removed, the hole was capped and no kickstand will be included. You would be able to find a Schwinn kickstand for it if you wanted one.
What I am selling is an upgraded vintage Schwinn with a good hand built cro-mo frame that you could ride now with no problems. You have most of the of the parts to change it back to a mostly original Super Sport. It is in excellent condition. This one of the nicest bikes I have found. I rode it. It is tight and rides well.
I bought this from the original owner who is getting too old to ride. He is a lifelong serious cyclist. He converted to the Nashbar components in recent times as he was aging. He was living in Wilmington DE when he bought this in 1971. It was during the bicycle shortage. He said he drove to Princeton NJ to buy it. He bought one for his wife too.
Original Weinmann 27" alloy wheels with quick release hubs.
    Nashbar tires. 27" x 1 1/4"
    Original Weinmann brakes.
    Brooks Professional leather saddle.
    Chrome fork.
Nice Pletcher spring loaded, alloy, rear carrier.
Sigma Sport BC 800 vintage cycling computer. All the parts are there. It probably needs a new battery.
The upright handlebars, brake, grips, stem are Nashbar.
Vintage bottle cage and water bottle.
    Serial number FF.
24" frame with a 32" stand over height.
I have shipped hundreds of old bicycles. I will be able to pack this safely. I will charge what it costs. The ebay shipping will be accurate to your address. Fed Ex will be the most reasonable.
eBay is promoting easy returns. It is not practical for bicycles since the shipping can be 0 each way. Please ask any questions or ask for more pictures if you are unsure of anything. I don't want to have to get into  a return situation.
