Description
This 1961 Sprite was discovered disassembled in a barn, where it had been sitting since 1973. This Sprite features its original matching-numbers engine and frame; the engine was rebuilt, and various factory original parts were used to return the car to show condition. The body was sprayed in Bright Blue, with an extensive amount of time spent ensuring the body and paint were exemplary, and an offset white racing stripe and number roundels were applied, giving the Bugeye a more sporting appearance. Likewise, the interior was also restored with black upholstery piped in white, proper switchgear and chrome-rimmed gauges situated in the black-covered dashboard.
Complete with a factory hardtop and factory roll bar, this Sprite presents exquisitely well. The brightwork and lenses appear fantastically, the engine and compartment are extremely well detailed, and every nuance appears like new. Rolling on black steel wheels with blackwall tires, the Sprite uses an aluminum radiator to further enhance its ability to keep cool in traffic, on the track or just cruising along.
