For 1950, there were several lines of Crosley, with the Standard, Super, Hot Shot, and Jeep-like Farm-O-Road. Sales of all vehicles slid below 7,000, and then further to 6,600 in 1951. By 1952, Crosley realized his time was past and pulled the plug on June 3, after 2,075 vehicles had been produced.
Today Crosleys have a small but dedicated following. The Hot Shot preceded the influx of British sports cars in the 1950s, and is quite collectible, especially in Super Hot Shot guise. Finding a last year production rare vehicle like this is almost impossible and the Hot Shot will always have a strong following for any customer.
Pleased to bring to market we have this very rare and ultra-low production 1952 Crosley Hot Shot that represented the last year of production for the Crosley manufacture. These little two seaters were considered by many to be the first sports car of the era. Less than 400 of these were built and were extremely unique and fun to drive. Offered here is a bright blue exterior with proper chrome bumpers, hood ornament, chrome dish hubcaps, factory gauge cluster and radio. Soft top and frame is functional and even the proper rear mounted spare tires with cover comes with vehicle.
During our test drive the car was very spirited and was an eye catcher by many on the road. The 3spd was fun and easy to shift with a double clutch process as there are no synchro's to assist with shifting. New battery, new interior, new upholstered seats, and a restoration that was believed completed in the mid 90's and remains in a very high quality condition. Four wheel disc brakes grab very well and the vehicle is a joy to drive.
