Truly a unique offering…1940 American Bantam 65 Roadster Truly amazing in every respect and ready to roll on to the lawn of any concours event.The American Bantam Car Company produced approximately 6,200 cars between 1936 and 1940. Of the many body styles made, only 971 roadsters were produced with less than 75 remaining. The American Bantam weighs approximately 1200 pounds, a wheelbase of 75 inches, overall length of 105 inches and a 750cc (50ci) four-cylinder motor producing about 20 horsepower. A complete frame-off restoration was done on the vehicle over a period of ten years. Everything on the vehicle has been rebuilt, painted, plated and inspected to bring it back to factory standards. A full top with side curtains, rare black face gauges (most cars have white) and the factory jack complete the car. Concours awards - 5 firsts, 3 seconds, 1 Third and a 1 Grand Marshall Award. Body is STUNNING in Black with Burgundy in the side coves hood sides and dash. Paint is in excellent shape. All chrome has been re-plated with no pitting. Oxblood red leather on seats with all other interior panels done in matching color material. Black carpet is applied throughout interior of vehicle. Rebuilt three main motor. New bearings block line bored. Upper cylinder assembly re-sleeved new pistons and rings installed, valves replaced. New style rear main seal machined in to retain oil. New Zenith carburetor, with correct air cleaner. 1,126 total miles on the car and engine since the restoration was completed in 2015. 15x5 rims with Coker whitewalls. Brakes are cable and linkage mechanical. New cables to all four wheels. The shoes have been relined. FUN to drive with 3 speed on the floor.
