Handsome and unusual Graham street rod. Nice older build with all the features: power steering, disc brakes, cold A/C, and a decent stereo. Chevrolet 350/350 combination, OEM-grade interior, fully sorted. Great cruiser for the guy with a family!
We can guarantee that you’ll be one-of-one everywhere you go in this sleek Graham. That’s why we like it so much. It’s handsome without going so far out there that it looks weird. It’s pure streamlined ‘30s cool, but details like the split grille, doors hinged from the center pillar, and that awesome two-piece bumper really make it stand out. We would guess that the build was finished in the early 2000s and it must have been well done at the time, because it’s holding up extremely well. The two-tone paint remains bright and shiny without any serious defects, and the bodywork underneath is, of course, 100% steel (there are no reproduction fiberglass pieces for a Graham). Remarkably, the original trim was retained and looks great even on a slightly modified body, from the grille and hood ornament to the built-in horns that now double as turn signals to the delicate taillights perched on sleek little stands. All four doors fit well, the trunk has even gaps all around, and the butterfly hood opens from either side without any extra work, so someone was obviously sweating the details. Is it perfect? No, of course not. But it sure stands out!
The interior is anchored by a pair of bucket seats from a late-model, then everything was upholstery in OEM-style tan fabric that’s durable as well as comfortable. Being a sedan, there’s plenty of space front and back, and the details that make a ‘30s car so special were retained—check out the little courtesy lights on the B-pillar, the ornate door panels and hardware, and the neatly trimmed headliner. The dash was remade in a single sheet of aluminum, with Dolphin gauges ahead of the driver and secondary controls in a custom panel underneath. A GM tilt steering column is fitted with a leather-wrapped LaCarrera steering wheel and even the glove box was retained. Of note, the A/C blows cold, the AM/FM/CD radio sounds great thanks to lots of insulation in the body, and there’s a rather sizeable trunk out back that includes a space-saver spare and jack assembly, suggesting that this car was built to live in the real world.
Although the hood says “Supercharged” on its sides, the original supercharged inline-6 has given way to a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8, which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. It breaks no new ground but if reliability is your goal, there aren’t many better choices. There’s an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor on top, a GM HEI ignition system, and a giant radiator up front to keep things cool. It always starts easily, idles nicely, and pulls the rather big sedan around without much effort. A few polished and chrome dress-up items, plus the color-matched engine, make the engine bay look well-dressed and you’ll note that power steering and power disc brakes are part of the package. The engine is backed by a familiar TH350 3-speed automatic transmission spinning a Ford rear end with highway gears inside, probably 3.08s. The Mustang II style front suspension rides well and features rack-and-pinion steering while familiar leaf springs and shocks with helper springs hold up the rear. The dual exhaust system features glasspack-style mufflers for a mellow hot rod tone and the fabricated stainless gas tank is big enough for long-distance road trips. Chrome plated aluminum wheels have a suitably vintage look to them and carry staggered 215/70/15 front and 235/75/15 rear blackwall radials.
Unusual rods are always our favorites because they embrace the spirit of hot rodding—individuality. This Graham stands out because there just aren’t many of them around, and the quality construction makes it a very roadworthy machine. If you like being a little different while still being able to jump in and go without a second thought, this bright yellow Graham might be for you. Call today!
Harwood Motors always recommends and welcomes personal or professional inspections of any vehicle in our inventory prior to purchase.
