    Description

H.A. Lozier who started and owned his bicycle company of the same name went on to making fine automobiles after making these quality top-of-the-line bicycles. He was one of the more notable pioneering auto makers that got his start manufacturing pre 1900 bicycles along with Albert A.Pope and George N. Pierce who also went into automobile manufacturing after their bicycle manufacturing beginnings. The engineering that went into this Lozier bicycle reveals the ingenuity and engineering that was apparent in being reflected into early motor car development.
If you own an antique classic veteran Lozier automobile this bicycle will compliment the heritage of your early vehicle by showing it off at classic car shows or meets such as Hershey 2020, Carlisle 2020 and Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Monterey Car Week 2020 and have something no other Lozier automobile collector will have. Can you imagine this bicycle on a custom bicycle rack on the back of your fine Lozier automobile or displayed next to it with a tripod plaque describing it's importance to your Lozier automobile? What a treat for the crowd to gather around and enjoy as something out of the ordinary that they haven't seen up close and I'm sure this will be a first for the judges to experience as well!
What you are looking at is the completed restoration of a 1890 LOZIER & YOST GIANT NO. 4 hard tire safety bicycle that is very rare to find. It features a unique articulated front fork with Bolte action springs that can be adjusted to the rider's weight and/or road conditions. Ball bearings to hubs, pedals and steering head are just a few features of this high quality antique bicycle. Large 30" diameter wheels, commonly used in the hard tire safety era, before the invention of the pneumatic tire in 1892, have a 7/8" tire in cross section on the rear and a 3/4" tire in cross section on the front and are red solid wired-on rubber tires and are period correct. YOST PATENT saddle has fresh leather and is stained a dark brown color and polished to compliment the bicycle color scheme. Brake linkage has now been installed with fresh nickel plated parts. New stainless steel v-spokes are laced into the original solid crescent shaped rims that are in excellent condition. The original BRAMPTON'S PATENT(stamped into the side plates around the pivot pins) block chain made up of laminated steel plates (pre roller chain) adorns this bicycle as well. Chain guard still needs to be pained as does the rear fender (not shown).
These photos depict what this bicycle is if you don't know what this very rare bicycle looks like and there are not many in existence compared to the many sprung fork Victors and Columbias out there.
You could look years for a bicycle like this and may never have this opportunity again to own one of the more uniquely designed bicycles made prior to the turn of the1900 century.
This is an experienced collector's collectible bicycle and a key piece for any world-class antique bicycle collection.
EVEN IF YOU OWNED JUST ONE ANTIQUE BICYCLE, THIS EXAMPLE IS ONE OF THE HARDEST TO FIND & IS ALWAYS APPEALING TO HIGH END COLLECTORS OR MUSEUMS.

I can also get insurance coverage from my shipper but this will have to be an additional charge to my buyer. I have a 100% track record for getting the best shipping rate and packing correctly and can furnish references from my buyers over the years concerning this.
